Inefficient incandescent light bulbs are slowly being phased out of existence. The latest group to come to their senses is Canada’s most populous province, Ontario. Officials there recently said they plan to ban Thomas Edison’s famous invention by 2012. Alternative bulbs, such as the increasingly popular compact fluorescent use about 75% less energy than the archaic incandescent bulb.
